Saturday night's long-table dinner in the town's central business district - the first of its kind - sold out and diners were treated to a very special evening in an absolutely picturesque setting.
Forbes Business Chamber president Marg Duggan couldn't speak highly enough of the event, a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
"It was really well supported, we had a full house and wonderful food," Ms Duggan said. "All the feedback has been positive, positive."
Mother Nature didn't quite play her part, delivering chilly conditions for guests, but other than that organisers couldn't have been happier.
Ms Duggan thanked the sponsors and Forbes Shire Council for their support.
"Without their support it wouldn't have been the success it was," she said.
Rebecca Walsh from Ronald McDonald House Charities was guest speaker for the occasion and also had a fabulous evening.
"I can't say thank you enough to the Forbes community for their very generous support, and to the Forbes Business Chamber who made it possible and very enjoyable," she said.
The total funds raised from the event haven't been tallied yet, those to be finalised in coming weeks.
They will support the work of the Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
The Orange house opened four years ago and by the end of the last financial year had hosted more than 560 families - including 60 from Forbes and surrounds - who have children undergoing medical treatment there.
Taste on Templar has also laid a foundation for the type of event the Chamber would like to put on for the Rural Women's Gathering which Forbes has won the right to host in 2020.
"We certainly feel confident going ahead," Ms Duggan said.
