Forbes Business Chamber president Marg Duggan is encouraging everyone to come on down town and have some fun.

There are plenty of free activities on offer for the whole family around late night shopping and dining.

Last year's Christmas carnival was wonderful and the Chamber has continued to build on that winning formula.

This year sees the introduction of a second stage to showcase local talent: local early childhood centres, musicians, our seniors choir and band will perform.

Kentucky's Animal Nursery is also heading our way for the first time and is sure to be a hit with children.

Templar and Rankin streets will be lined with markets, children's rides and giant street games.

The extraordinary performers from Kristen's Dance Studio and the talented kids from Bedgerabong return to entertain, along with a seniors' dance group.

Santa and a new troupe of dancing elves will be out and about to hear the children's Christmas wishes.

There's an exciting range of food stalls from hot dogs and sausage sizzle through to international options and - for dessert - the Cold Rock ice cream van.

"There's a great variety of entertainment, food and shopping," Marg said. "We have tried to cater for all ages, stages and audiences."

The first of the prize draws in the Christmas promotion will take place during this evening's carnival and local shoppers are going to win gift cards to be used at participating businesses.

Don't forget to ask for your Find It In Amazing Forbes Christmas Promotion tickets with every purchase at a sponsor or participating business - you'll see the Christmas trees and navy blue posters around town.

Make sure you fill them out completely and put them in the entry box at the business.

There is a prize pool totalling $20,000 to be shared amongst numerous winners - starting with 10 winners of $500 in Why Leave Town cards to be drawn on Friday night.

Further: five winners will take home $1000 in Why Leave Town cards, one winner will take home $2000, one $3000 and one $5000.
