Hiding in bags up in a tree
there's plenty to read for you and me
Families with young children looking to grow a new leaf in this New Year are welcome to come along and find bags of books in trees around Lake Forbes including Apex Park, Water Park and Lions Park from January 11.
Forbes Birth to Kinder, with help from Forbes Community Out of School Hours Care program, will be hanging bags of books in the parks.
Families are welcome to find the bags of books and read the stories. If a child likes a book they can take it home, or they can simply put the book back in the bag and in the tree.
If others would like to be involved, they can purchase pre-loved or new books from stores around town.
Raewyn Molloy from Forbes Birth to Kinder said Story Trees is a chance for children of all ages to be involved with reading.
"Our Vacation Care children have enjoyed being involved with this new idea," she said.
