Teams in tussle for second on ladder

Cricket under lights last Friday night saw the Tigers host Trundle Ducks in a game for second place.

It was a close tussle with both teams batting out their full T20 allocated overs, with the Ducks coming away with a comfortable win in the end.

Trundle set a score that looked comfortable but proved just out of reach, and had Tigers all out with 20 runs to spare.

Meanwhile, out at Trundle, the Young Ducks took on VC Reid.

Unfortunately, the contest saw the continuation of a less-than-rewarding season for the Ducklings on the scoreboard front.

Your correspondent is pretty sure both Trundle teams lead the way with regards to enjoying the game of cricket.

Despite bowling the Ducklings out relatively cheaply, VC Reid looked comfortable before faltering and then stumbling over the line to stay in touch with the top three teams.

Last week saw Globe continue its winning ways due to a forfeit by Postie.

There is a log jam in the middle of the table, with Trundle, Golfie Tigers, VC Reid and Postie all chasing the lucrative second place.

Games this week are T20 matches on Saturday starting 1pm.

Globe meet Tigers on South Circle Oval;

Postie meet Young Ducks on Grinsted;

Trundle host VC Reid at Trundle.
