Staunch Forbes supporter Ted Morgan is never far away from the money and last week he was tops winning with 26 points on a count-back from Parkes' Robert Lea, who in himself was a winner able to collect his prescription sun glasses after play fearing he had lost them 'somewhere' around the course.
Leftie legend John Pearce from Parkes collect the encouragement award while nearest the pin winners were, 9th, A grade Roy Bell (P), B grade 'Magpie' Mick Bond (P), 18th A grade Ken Sanderson (F), B grade Steve Edwards (F).
With both clubs represented by 13 players each an unusual result occurred in the Mick Miller Shield with the best six scores from Parkes totalling 147 to win over the host club who could only manage 135.
Ball sweep to 23 points. 25 points, Sunna Bell (P), Graeme Cooke (P), 24 Nym Dziuba (P), 23 Ken Sanderson (F), Roy Bell (P).
Golf on Thursday will be 12 holes in Parkes, shot gun start at 10am while on Thursday week (January 30) 18 holes will be contested by members of clubs within the Lachlan Valley at Condobolin. If the golf isn't all that flash you can bet lunch and snacks will be A grade.
Last Tuesday a youthful looking Bob Grant produce his best form for a long time to win the 12 hole competition posting 31 points from his revised handicap.
Once again Ken Sanderson scored 29 points to be next best from the 18 registered players.
Tuesday golf back is now back in earnest, gather at 9am for a 9.30am shot gun start.
Veteran (and all golfers) are asked to repair fairway divots and pitch marks on the greens. A heavy schedule of social golfers over the holiday period has left quite a few divots and pitch marks around the course. It's easy to take bucket of sand.
