The sight of an electric mobility scooter heading along Beechworth-Wodonga Road this week had motorists held up in traffic and concerned.

The man was travelling in his scooter on the 100km/h section of the road, which has no shoulders or footpaths to separate him from other vehicles.
VicRoads states that mobility scooters are design to be used outdoors on footpaths and if people need to go onto the road, they should return to a footpath as soon as possible.
"The road rules that apply to users of motorised mobility devices are the road rules that apply to pedestrians," it has stated on its website.
"Avoid country roads if possible.
"If you must use a country road, stay as close to the kerb as possible, facing oncoming traffic."
