He was very ably introduced to the 41 Probians in attendance by Trevor Drury.
Craig immediately commenced his power-point presentation on the workings and the output of the very profitable mine.
Approximately 250,000 ounces of gold are produced in one year, selling at $2100 per ounce.
The huge profit that is achieved allows the management to donate a substantial amount of money each year to local communities ie West Wyalong, Condobolin and Forbes.
The mine employs 75 per cent of their labour force from these communities.
The life of the mine is estimated to go beyond 2038.
There is a huge need for water in the extraction process; however, saline water is just as good as fresh water in that operation and so they are continually drilling to find saline water and will eventually cut out fresh water usage if possible.
Following his talk Craig ably answered the many interesting questions put to him.
