Police are appealing for public assistance after an attempted armed robbery at a Rankin Street restaurant on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were told a teenager entered the restaurant armed with a blade attached to a piece of wood and demanded money - about 3.15pm.
A woman working at the restaurant yelled to a co-worker for assistance who ran to the front of the restaurant and the teenager fled, heading north on Rankin Street.
Officers from Central West Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
Police are now appealing for public information to locate a teenager who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The boy is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 15 to 17 years, with a slim build, about 165-175cm tall with light hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and shorts.
