Sixty-seven veteran golfers from across the Lachlan Valley converged on Cowra Golf course last Thursday for the monthly 18 hole competition. All commented on the well presented course from tee to green.

Forbes' Ted Morgan showed his liking for the challenge to again sit at top in A grade scoring 39 points from Jeff McPherson (Cowra) 38 points and Ken Harcombe (Cowra) next best on 37 points.
Best score for the day came from Robert Lea of Parkes in B grade with 40 points from fellow club member Dymto Dziuba on 38 points with Jimmy Clyburn (Condobolin) in the top three on 37 points.
In C grade home two players Warwick Spence on 35 points and Noel Riley 33 points were best from Steve Edwards (Forbes/Bogan Gate) also on 33 points.
Best of the Forbes players were, Ted Morgan 39 points, Tony Cogswell 35, Peter Barnes 35, Alf Davies 34, Allan Rees 33, Steve Uphill 31, Garry Pymont 30, Frank Hanns 30.
On the local scene this week's 12 hole Forbes/Parkes vets competition is in Parkes followed by Forbes on April 2.
Last Tuesday's social 12 holes saw three players finished on 29 points with Garry Pymont best in the count-back from Anthony Alley and Terry Shannon.
In a field of 16 players club champion Shane Sallaway was warmly welcomed as was Dennis McGroder back for another social 12 holes.
