The Royal Far West Op Shop closed on Friday May 20 for at least for four weeks.

The Vinnies Op Shop closed its doors on Tuesday May 24, and volunteers are asking that people hold onto their donations until the store is reopened.

Vince Toohey, from St Vincent de Paul said they would like to stress that they unable to take any donations until they are open again.

Mr Toohey said they are offering help in emergency situations only and more information can be found on signs in the Op Shop's window.

For emergency assistance call 0483 221 402 from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 12pm.

In a statement on their website, St Vincent de Paul Society said they are determined to be there for people in need during this difficult time.

While the Salvation Army Family Store may be closed, they are still offering assistance to those in need according to local Salvation Army officer, Sandra Walmsley.

Ms Walmsley said the decision to shut the Salvos Family Store was due in part to many of the volunteers that run it fall into the vulnerable category for COVID-19.

However, many of the Salvo's essential community services will still be offered, Ms Walmsley said, and people can still ring through to them on their number - 13 72 58 or on 1300 371 288.

The Salvation Army's National Secretary for Mission, Lt-Colonel Lyn Edge said they are committed to their ongoing work with and alongside vulnerable Australians.

"Many of our programs and services are considered essential services and will continue. Things like homelessness program, our emergency relief, our bushfire and drought responses."
