Eight mm had been measured at Forbes airport overnight, but residential gauges in Oxford Street and in Abbott Street both had 11mm in them on Monday morning.
The forecast was also looking promising.
At lunchtime Monday Weatherzone indicated an 80 per cent chance of rain on Wednesday, with falls of 10 to 20mm possible.
Temperatures will remain reasonably warm though, with a top of 28 degrees expected.
