The Forbes Riverside Community Garden in Reymond Street is closed to the general public under the current conditions but that does not stop the plants in the shade house from growing.

Rather than sacrifice these plants they are being offered for sale at the pop-up stall outside number 20, Battye Street.
On offer at the moment are cabbage, cauliflower, kale, radicchio, rocket, beetroot, snow pea, broad been, parsley, sage, rosemary, shallot, brown onion, white onion, red onion and garlic seedlings, all at $2 per pot.
Just leave your money in the tin at the stall, and you can get started on your own vegetable garden at home.
Many of the pots have multiple seedlings in them - enough to share with your neighbour (just remember your social distancing!).
The community garden volunteers say the stocks are being replenished overnight, and new crops added as they become large enough to plant out.
Keep an eye on this space in the coming weeks and months.
