Forbes Rotary Club President Grahame Uphill said their visitors' aims were to just spend some money, see some of the sites and have some fellowship with people in and around Forbes.

While in town, members of Umina North Rotary visited Eugowra to see the murals and stopped in Parkes to visit the CSIRO Parkes Radio Observatory. They also travelled out to visit Moonbi Hall

For some it was their first visit to Forbes and while here presented a cheque for $3000 to Forbes Rotary.

"The cheque will be very handy and will help to make up for a shortfall in our fundraising caused by the cancellation of events such as the Camel Races," Mr Uphill said.

The other purpose of their trip to Forbes was to visit the property of Richard and Heather Cole near Waroo.

The Coles have been hosting students from an agricultural high school at Gosford for farm stays and have also provided animals for the school to exhibit at local shows.

Umina North Rotary, through their youth programs, have also had an affiliation with the agricultural high school.

Mr Uphill said Forbes Rotary had discussions with Umina North Rotary on how they could upgrade the facilities at Moonbi Hall to enable the students to continue coming.

Currently, Forbes Rotary Club are in forced recess due to current regulations aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19.
