Local competitions have been suspended by NSW Rugby League until at least May 1 in response to the health pandemic.
Magpies players have turned to a range of online groups and chats to keep connected and share fitness tips.
First-grade coach Cameron Greenhalgh said they are relying on individual players to keep up their fitness with drills while they wait to see what the year ahead has in store.
Although the first grade side bowed out to Nyngan Tigers in the minor semi-finals in 2019, the Magpies were well prepared for the start of this season.
Greenhalgh said they went pretty well in last year's season, although they have some things to work on, they are well on track for this year.
Greenhalgh said they were shaping up pretty well in the pre season and building on the momentum.
This was shown when they came out firing in the West Wyalong Knockout, making it to the semi-finals before being beaten by Nowra Bomaderry.
Greenhalgh said they are making sure the players are still keeping in touch and working on drills they can work on by themselves which involve a lot of movement.
With approximately a month still left to go before the season was officially supposed to start Greenhalgh is hopeful to see it resume, if the current situation settles down.
"I hope they can resolve it for everyone's sake - give a bit of normalcy."
Greenhalgh is confident they will pull through as everyone involved with the Magpies are a pretty tight-knit group which has been built up over the last few years.
