A MAN is behind bars accused of breaching COVID-19 restrictions for non-essential travel rules, after he was already fined $1000 on three different occasions.

The 24-year-old man was arrested after Oxley police intercepted him on the road in Grace Street in Narrabri, about 11.10pm on Saturday.
Police stopped the car the man was driving for a random breath test. The 24-year-old passed the roadside test but police claim he "was unable to provide a reasonable excuse for not being home".
Checks on the man revealed he had already been intercepted by officers several times about the rules.
Police claim the man has already been issued three penalty infringement notices (PINs) - each at $1000 a pop - as well as two prior warnings.
He was arrested and taken to Narrabri police station where he was charged with not complying with notice direction for COVID-19.
He was refused bail to front Tamworth Local Court.
