"The Stronger Country Communities Fund is all about giving unique grassroots projects, like the unique Program of Excellence and High Needs, a fair go and the help they need to go from ideas to reality," Mr Farraway said.

"Each round of the project has had a different focus, with youth based projects being the focus of round 3.

"The Nationals in Government are sticking by our commitment to fund projects aimed at enhancing outcomes for young people in regional areas through new infrastructure and programs - after all, they are our future," Mr Farraway said.

FDSC President Laura Tandy, highlighted the fact that these programs and activities will deliver increased participation across the community including social, physical and health benefits.

"The 2020-2021 Forbes District Soccer Club Project - Programs of Excellence and High Needs, focuses on delivering skills and pathways development to girls, ethnic minorities, indigenous kids together with broader soccer participation for children and families of all abilities," she said.

Club Development Manager, Doug Mckenzie said, "With the assistance of Forbes Shire Council, Members of Parliament and the NSW Government the club's new toilets and change room facilities have been installed, playing fields improved with help from NSW Government drought funding".

"The quantity and quality state of the art training equipment purchased for Western NSW academy style development programs, and now a significant grant from Building Stronger Country Community Fund to deliver on the ground training programs, will only enhance our ability to host future competitions and events to the broader community and region," Mr McKenzie said.

Mr Farraway said that FDSC has really been a leader in providing unique development opportunities for local soccer enthusiasts across the region.

"Laura, Doug and the entire FDSC committee should be very proud of what they have achieved so far in providing a fun, safe and competitive environment for the local community," Mr Farraway said.

"They are paving the way for soccer clubs across the region and I am looking forward to seeing future superstars get their start here in Forbes."

Through the delivery of winter and summer development programs, sports tourist events and school programs to outlying locations, the program will allow for greater inclusivity, improved health and increased sports participation particularly targeting females, Indigenous people and low socioeconomic families.

The program will provide a calendar of events over two years for children, adults and masters level participants and will also support areas beyond Forbes such as Eugowra, Gooloogong and Caragbal.

Up to 3000 children will be targeted in the program and will benefit from the associated mental, physical and social advantages of the program
