NSW Highway Patrol have charged a man with multiple offences after he was detected travelling at more than 200km/hr on the Newell Highway near Parkes.

About 10:50am on Sunday 31st May 2020, Parkes Highway Patrol have detected a silver Subaru Forrester travelling north on the Newell Highway, Parkes at 129km/h in a sign posted 110km/h area.
Police have attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver, a 30 year old Victorian male, has failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
The offending vehicle has travelled at speeds in excess of 200km/h before coming to a stop on the Newell Highway.
Police have arrested the male and have submitted him to a breath test which returned a negative result.
Police have also submitted him to a drug test which returned a positive result to Methamphetamines.
Checks on the male found his Victorian Driver Licence was currently endorsed disqualified. Checks on the vehicle found that it was listed as stolen on 30th May 2020.
A search of the vehicle located a pipe uses for smoking ICE.
The vehicle was towed and secured while the male was conveyed to Parkes Police Station.
He was submitted to a secondary oral fluid test which returned a positive result to THC and Meth.
Police will be charging the male upon receipt of the result from the laboratory in Sydney.
Police have charged the male with Fail to Stop, Police Pursuit, Drive Manner Dangerous, Exceed Speed Limit over 45km, Exceed Speed Limit over 10km/h, Possession of Drug equipment, Take Drive Conveyance and Drive whilst Disqualified.
