Parkes did receive a 'major' with Rick Glover taking the encouragement award while in the Mick Miller Shield, Parkes with their best six scores from 20 representatives scored 141 points to win over Forbes 139 points (14 players).

Tuesday casual golfers will gather today at the "Golfie' Hotel for Christmas In July dinner after play where organiser Geoff Drane will play the part of Santa in welcoming all after a successful season on the course.

Results Golf Croquet July 7: Thirty two players turned up for todays Golf Croquet. The general idea for new players is to have some time getting used to playing Tuesdays golf croquet before going on to Saturday's Aussie croquet which needs a little more skill. Your partner is very important in Aussie croquet and working as a team wins the game. Five players won their three games this week.

Results Aussie Croquet July 11: There were twenty seven players on the courts for the start of Aussie Croquet. The main concern was to complete the three matches before the rain arrived. Halfway through the last game it was run for cover. Three of the games had to be cancelled. There were only two winners of the three matches, they were: John Cole and Libby Smart.

Welcome back day for boys and girls. It will be held on Saturday, July 18. NetSetGo is for five years and over to play at 10am.

Junior mixed is for 15 years and under and will play at 11.15am. Registrations close at the end of the day and committee members will be on hand to help. There will be a free sausage sizzle for players.

We also have plans for a junior carnival for September 20. Last year we held a junior gala day that was very successful and the committee has decided to run the carnival on the same lines. More information will be provided as the dates draw closer.

Night Competition: With the Autumn Comp only just starting before COVID-19 lockdown, unfortunately it had to be shut down.

Registrations to NNSW is a yearly fee and they have declared that refunds will not be given at this time.

But we have plans underway for the new Spring Comp for both mixed and ladies teams, to start on August 26 with the first grading game.

The second grading game will be played on September 2, with the first competition games to be played on September 9. Team nominations are open now and will close August 19.

Any player who has paid their comp fees for the cancelled Autumn season will have their payment carried over to spring comp.

Nominations for Major Pairs is open. Closing date is July 25. Get your teams in. Major singles resuming round to be played by July 25.
