Thirty four pairs made up of regional visitors and locals gathered for the annual mixed pairs carnival, and organiser Leisa Burton said the competition was top quality.
Winners Brian Asimus and Connie Rutherford were just one shot ahead of the runners up Jason Dukes and Sue White at the end of five rounds.
The win came down to the wire, the victors were down one on the final end of their final game. That last shot gained them three points, the match and top spot for the weekend.
In third were Colleen Ryan and Jordan Thompson, in fourth were Jodie Quinn (West Wyalong) and Graham Rutherford (Wagga Wagga).
Play began Saturday morning with Young's Judith and Terry Mulligan claiming the first round.
Leanne Black and Allan Curran from West Wyalong took out Round 2, Marilyn and Darren Seton from Condobolin Round 3.
Despite a forecast of significant wet weather for the weekend, bowlers only had to take about a half-hour break. Most of the weekend's nearly 15mm fell overnight.
Darryl Byrne and Di Wilson from Molong claimed Round 4 honours on Sunday morning, and Forbes' Leisa Burton with Mark Gorrie won the final round of play on Sunday afternoon.
Burton thanked everyone who had made the weekend such a success: players, visitors, the bowlie's greenkeepers and staff and sponsors Bernardi's and Forbes Central butchers.
"The entertainment Saturday night was fantastic," she added.
