The Platypi had a tough day out at Bathurst last Saturday, and they're looking forward to lifting before a home crowd even if it the forecast wet weather comes in.
"Ignore the scoreboard" was the message from veteran coach Phil Prior as the seniors gathered at training on Tuesday.
"For 60 per cent of the (first grade) game (in Bathurst) we were the better side, but we made some fundamental errors," he said.
They're looking to address that as they meet an unknown Orange City side back at Grinsted Oval.
The return of co-captain Jack Hammond and the experienced Josh Coulthurst will certainly strengthen the ranks for both first grade and second.
"We'll be looking to tighten up our set pieces and just fix those mistakes," Prior said.
A depleted women's side went down 80-nil to Bathurst, losing amongst others captain Kate Loneragan with an ankle injury.
"They were short on numbers and a couple of them got hurt early on," Prior said.
"But they were chasing until the last bell, they showed a lot of heart."
As he pointed out, the debut side tasted their own 100-point victories in 2019.
John Cole, coach of the Platypi colts side, says the disappointment showed on the faces of his under 18s in their 8-17 loss against Dubbo Rhinos.
"They knew they should have won," he said.
They hit the training paddock hard this week, the coach predicting the forwards will show more aggression when they run out this Saturday.
The backs also drilled down with some targeted coaching with Peter Francis.
"This week I'm looking forward to getting the ball out to the speed we have out wide," Cole said.
That includes into the hands of captain Jade Page, who had a strong game at fullback against the Rhinos.
Cole was also full of praise for Austin Fay in the forwards.
"This is his first season of rugby and he's thrown himself into it week after week," Cole said.
Don your driza-bone and your umbrella and head on down to the Lake-side ovals to catch the rugby this Saturday.
The Colts kick off at 12.45pm after the junior grades in the morning.
