The women's squad won their match 44-15, while the Colts went down to Orange City 33-10.
The Reserve Grade had a close loss to Orange City, going down 17-12, while First Grade went down 22-5.
Forbes Platypi First Grade coach Phil Prior said that the Wolfpack put in a bit of a better effort than the scoreboard showed when the final whistle sounded.
In the first grade match, the Platypi were going strong in the first 20 minutes, pushing Orange City's try line.
However Orange's defense held before pushing back the Platypi.
Prior said they started well, but then dropped off after 20 minutes, but he doesn't put it down to lack of fitness.
Prior is putting it down to the changes in play style they've had to adapt, though he admits they are picking it up as fast as they can.
"It's frustrating to watch, but it's also frustrating for the players."
Losing Charlie French in the first 20 minutes to an injury was a blow for the Platypi, but his replacement Don Dundass put in a massive effort.
Prior said Dundass put in one of the biggest efforts during the game, and that was after playing a full game in the reserve grade.
With several rounds left in the season, Prior is confident it will all come together for the Platypi as the player numbers and skill are there.
Orange City's Tom Nell said they were "On top of the world," with the win.
This was Orange City's first Blowes Clothing Cup win in two years and one Nell said sent the Orange City faithful into raptures on the final buzzer.
"For some of us who've been there a long time, some of the blokes who'd been there since 2013, it was actually quite emotional."
The Lions had been ill-disciplined in recent weeks, and gave away a penalty on kickoff - with another six to follow in the next 15 minutes - but Nell said his teammates were able to turn it around.
"We had to nip that in the bud, we all got angry and aggressive but directed it the right way," he said.
Orange City coach Viv Paasi said, "It's good to get the win and get the monkey off our backs ... it had been eating a bit and getting pretty heavy, that monkey."
LIONS: Emmanuel Rodriguez, Steven Widders, Duncan Young, Thomas Nell tries; Keegan Harding conv. PLATYPI: Jarrod Hall try
Forbes Platypi face off against Dubbo next weekend, which is in important match according to Prior.
"Things are starting to get a bit late, we just have to get a few wins," he said.
