Kevin and Kay travelled to Nyngan on the first weekend in August to compete in the NSW Utility Dog Trial championship.
They came away with two victories: Karana Roy won the New South Wales utility dog trial championship and Karana Ace won the novice section.
"Both of these dogs are by our two-times National Kelpie Utility Trial Champion dog Karana Abba who also won the New South Wales Championship a number of times," the delighted breeders said.
They were over the moon with their success: the championships were hotly contested with 75 dogs vying for the open title and 87 in the Novice competition.
The Howells' dogs have won the National Kelpie Championships nine times and placed second 13 times.
They've travelled far and wide to hold coaching clinics, attend trials or to judge competition, and brought competitions including the NSW Utility Dog Trials to Eugowra.
