With shows cancelled earlier this year due to COVID-19 risks, the group of amusement operators worked with NSW Health to put on a safe event.
Forbes was the first town to host their carnival - and Showman's Guild representative Gage Stewart says it all went off without a hitch.
Numbers stayed well within limits, there was plenty of space and operators wiped down rides between patrons, he said.
"The atmosphere was really good and we have had really good feedback on Facebook," he said.
"It was never too crowded, it was pretty constant with people going in and out."
Most of the crowd was local, he added, or came from surrounding areas including Condobolin.
Sunday, with the weather threatening, was quieter.
The showmen hope they can now host more of the carnivals in the central west region.
