That's the message from coach Brad McMillan as our undefeated Magpies Under 18s head into this weekend's Maas Western Youth League final.
As reigning minor premiers Forbes hosts the grand final this Sunday, with the Magpies to take on Dubbo CYMS in the main game at 2.25pm.
And they'll be using every bit of that home ground advantage.
"It's going to be a tough game but being a home grand final, the boys will be ready to go," McMillan said. "Being at home gives us a boost - they're pretty excited about it."
Our Forbes 18s aren't underestimating the visiting CYMS side.
"We have beaten them once but that was in the first game after COVID, and we'd only had a three-week period for training," McMillan said.
Forbes Magpies have found their wings - and their match fitness - since that first hit-out but so has the CYMS squad and a slow start like last weekend's against Parkes won't cut it.
"We can't let a side like Dubbo CYMS get a lead on us like that," McMillan said.
There's a lot of talent in our juniors and while every member of the side will be vital in this weekend's clash, McMillan knows they're absolutely capable.
"I'll be looking to the senior players to lead," McMillan said, citing captain Jack Hartwig, Tommy Phillips and Sean Towney as impressive.
"But you can't rely on one bloke," he added.
The only change to the side (pictured) is a concerning potential hamstring injury backrower Toby Denyer suffered at training on Tuesday. The coach will be giving him every opportunity to play if he can but it's too soon to say.
