Jen Wood teamed up with Forbes' Laurie Norris to coordinate the events after the cancellation of our agricultural shows due to COVID-19.
The Cudal-based professional jumper is passionate about raising the bar in her sport's opportunities in regional areas, and events like the series of two-day events hosted at Forbes showground are part of that.
The September event was restricted to riders within the sports zone defined by NSW Health. That affected entries, particularly at the higher levels of competition, but Wood said it was still a great two days.
"We are giving riders the option to compete and improve," she said.
Across two rings, riders competed in a broad range of events that allowed both inexperienced and senior riders an outing.
"It was really awesome to see the improvement (in the younger riders) between the first event back in August and this event," Wood said.
The next event will be at Forbes Showground on October 31 and November 1, with entries opening online on October 13.
