The freezing weather might have moved in on Saturday but it couldn't stop television personality 'Fast' Ed Halmagyi cooking up a storm at the Forbes Farmers Markets.
Better Homes and Gardens was in town for the morning and Farmers Markets committee member Pippa McConnell said the celebrity chef tried out some local ingredients during filming right here in Victoria Park.
He made a tart with Khorasan Flour from the local Artisan Grains, with preserve from Curra Creek Figs.
While sampling and taste testing are off the cards due to COVID-safe conditions, the team was able to take some other central west regional produce to try later.
The Forbes Farmers Markets are on at Victoria Park from 8am to midday on the fourth Saturday of every month with a whole range of regional produce from meats to fresh seasonal vegetables, beverages, preserves and of course the local grains Fast Ed tried out on Saturday.
The next markets are scheduled for October 24.
For your calendar, the Rotary Ipomoea markets are October 10 and Handicraft Centre markets October 17.
