Over the last 25 years, Tony Osborne and other members of T & M Tyres Dunlop Super Dealer have helped out thousands of customers get the best tyres for all sorts of vehicles.

The family run business was opened by Tony and Michael Osborne at 30 Sherriff Street on October 12, 1995 when the brothers bought the Beaurepaires license.

Before the brothers took on the Beaurepaires licensed store, Michael was managing the Beaurepaires as a company store, while Tony was a greenskeeper for the Bowling Club for 18 years.

Tony said they decided to take on the license to run T & M Tyres Beaurepaires for a 'sea-change' and into self-employment.

Michael left the business in October of 2000 when Tony bought him out of his share of the license.

T & M Tyres Beaurepaires was then transformed into it's current form of T & M Tyres Dunlop Super Dealer not long after.

Running a tyre store is not as easy as it looks, Tony said, with long hours of hard work involved.

He gets in at 6:30am every morning and will usually leave work at 6pm every night and Tony has replaced tyres on almost every vehicle imaginable.

Tony said he's changed tractor tyres, truck tyres, earth moving tyres, lawn mower tyres and even the tyres on a pram.

Tony is supported by a good group of co-workers and employees including Shane Morton-Roberts who has worked for T & M Tyres for over 10 years and Adam Mckenzie who's been with the business for more than six years.

Tony said working for himself and being his own boss has been different but very rewarding, particularly when he gets customer feedback.

Over the last 20 years, Tony has seen a change in technology with different designs of tyres and batteries as well as the different practises need to replace them properly.

"Especially batteries, when you change them now you've got to have a support battery to hook onto your leads so you don't lose memory," he said.

Over the years T & M Tyres Dunlop Super Dealer have expanded their range to cater for the growing range of different tyre sizes available for vehicles.

Tony said he would like to thank his staff Shane Morton-Roberts, Adam Mckenzie and Helen Osborne for their hard work and service at T & M Tyres Dunlop Super Dealer.
