Forbes Shire Council is inviting the community to come together to celebrate Children's Week in a different way this year. Due to COVID restrictions, Teddy Bear's Picnic will be going virtual!
Council has partnered with Forbes Business Chamber for an amazing Teddy Bear Hunt, taking place in the Forbes CBD from Saturday October 24 until Friday November 1.
Find the bears hidden in shop windows throughout the CBD, then upload your photos to Instagram (make sure to tag @forbesyouthactionteam and @forbesbc) for your chance to win a $50 Why Leave Town card.
Post your photo to the Virtual Teddy Bear's Picnic event page on Facebook for an extra chance to win!
The Forbes Shire Council would also love you to show your creativity by downloading the colouring-in competition from Council's website or pick up a copy from Council's front counter or from your nearest preschool or child care centre.
There are great prizes to be won in two categories - birth to preschool and Kindy to Year 3.
Drop off your completed masterpiece to Council's front counter or send a copy to email@example.com.
The colouring in competition closes on Friday November 1.
Council is also supporting our local preschools and day cares to carry out their in-centre celebrations and they look forward to sharing all the fun and photos from these events - follow @ForbesYouthActionTeam on Facebook and like the Virtual Teddy Bear's Picnic event to stay in the loop.
Make sure you've clicked "Attending" on the Facebook event page as the Forbes Shire Council will be sharing ways you can celebrate Children's Week at home throughout the week - including recipes, DIYs and fun activities to inspire you!
For more information contact the Forbes Shire Council's Youth Officer on 02 6850 2300.
Forbes Teddy Bear's Picnic launched in 2016 and proved enormously popular, drawing hundreds of families out for a fun day at the park.
Forbes Shire Council's Teddy Bears Picnic forms part of their Children's Week celebrations. Children's Week is hosted around the fourth Wednesday of October and is all about celebrating children and promoting the importance of childhood.
