Forbes Town and District Tennis Club coach Peter Clifton said it was exciting that they won the competition this year after competing for so long.
The annual Inter Town Tennis Competition is played over four rounds between teams from Forbes, Young, West Wyalong, Grenfell and Temora.
Each team fielded around 16 players in the competition which included men's and women's double matches as well as mixed doubles matches.
Mr Clifton said it is one of the strongest tennis competition played over the winter months and are aimed at players who want to go up against strong opponents.
The competition featured teams playing to a handicap between 20 and 50 depending on skill.
The doubles teams played against teams which were at a similar handicap level.
Mr Clifton said the Forbes players were all quite skilled and were playing with handicaps of between 20 and 30 during the competition.
Mr Clifton said it was a very well run competition and they look forward to competing in it again next year.
The Forbes Town and District Tennis Club's night competition is set to start tonight, Tuesday October 13.
The night competition will follow the same format as last year and will run to around Easter, 2021. The competition will take a break from mid-December until the end of January.
The nightly playing fee is $10, which is an increase on previous years to help the club cover the additional costs for cleaning due to the Covid-19.
Membership costs are $45 per adult, $35 for seniors and $20 for juniors up to 18 years.
