Steve kicked off proceedings in the Join the NSWSOA Maiden Pace with Ideal Match ($5) absolutely smashing the field to secure a first win in just her fourth career start.
The two-year-old filly sat patiently at the tail of the field for the opening lap before pushing the go button and pinching the lead with relative ease; and from there she couldn't be caught - eventually securing a dominant 10 metre win.
Stephanie Burley produced an absolute peach of a ride for Amanda Townsend in the second maiden event of the day, with Rick ($10) running down Soldtoyousir ($2 fixed place) in the shadows of the post.
The Tabs Odds and Evens Pace was over soon after it began, with Tulhurst Lover ($3.70) showing good gate speed from the gun draw before leading all the way - holding off the brave Rock Hand ($1.55 fixed place) and Cuzin Pat ($1.80 fixed place).
It's been a long time between drinks for the mare, who hasn't won since November 27, 2019 and trainer Nathan Hurst will be hoping this win will spark a run of form.
The Australian Pacing Gold Pace saw the only victory for a Parkes trainer - with talented colt Watch and Weep ($2.15) backing up last Wednesday's ultra impressive win in Bathurst with win number four in start 13.
Trained by Malcolm Hutchings and driven by Mitch Hutchings, Watch and Weep flew down the outside to overhaul Negative Nancy ($4 fixed place) and secure the win by just over a head, with the Brett Hutchings trained Country Grammer ($6 fixed place) rounding out the minor placings.
In the NSWSOA and A P Gold Pace there was a thrilling two horse race between Miss Lemon and Eagle Commander, with the two Bathurst runners streaking away from the rest of field at the back of the straight.
It was Miss Lemon ($8) who held on to win by a short half head, with Brett Hutchings piloting Moreartsthanclass to third at big odds ($9 fixed place).
There was a Turnbull trifecta in the Parkes Leagues Club Pace, with Toro Delago ($3.30) showing impressive gate speed from second on the front row to score the win as the rain began to tumble down.
Chasing the Wind ($1.30 fixed place) was unable to reel in the winner, who had opened up a healthy lead at the top of the straight while Bell River Boy battled on gamely for third ($1.65 fixed place).
It was yet another Turnbull trifecta in the Col Fletcher Ford Pace after Young Cambo ($7) managed to upstage the well fancied Meraviglia ($1.14 fixed place) with Jason Turnbull nosing the gelding in front just in the nick of time.
Steve Turnbull took out the last event of the day with Rock On ($3.10) clinging on ahead of the fast finishing Jumping Jack Jimmy ($5 fixed place) for Parkes' Andrew Cassell with the rain absolutely teeming down on the few punters that stuck around.
The next meeting at the Parkes Harness Racing Club is on Sunday November 22.
