Confirmation: On Sunday Gaby and Zane Wren and Alana Haynes made the Sacrament of Confirmation at St John the Baptist Church in Eugowra amongst family and friends.
Fr Laurie in the absence of Bishop Michael confirmed the children. All stayed on for a lovely barbecue and cake cutting after church.
Christian Living Camp: The following day all the Year 6 students went on to enjoy Christian Living Camp. Along with class teacher Mrs Rose and Principal Mrs Epp they travelled to Perthville near Bathurst to attend the yearly Christian Living Camp.
The children were joined by other small schools in the Diocese - Molong, Yeoval, Blayney and Canowindra for two days of fun, friendship and faith. As usual, Chris Doyle was a favourite among the children with his wild antics and great singing and dancing and music. The camp promotes making new friendships and continuing the faith journey in a fun and relevant way.
Passport to high school: On Thursday 12th Nov, our year 6 students spent the day attending a Passport to High School workshop with Principal Mrs Eppelstun and school counselor Nicole Chambers.
The workshop was based around the issues children were looking at for High School in 2021 - what they were looking forward to, concerns or worries and by talking about these certainly helped in their preparation.
Areas covered in the workshop included time tables, homework diaries, responsibilities, problem solving situations which may arise in high school, making friends, decision making - good and bad choices, where to go for help and who to ask.
The children all had a fantastic day and we hope are now all better equipped to move forward with confidence in the next step of their learning journey.
Excursion time: Due to Covid rules the usual Sydney excursion has had to be cancelled this year. Instead, the children will spend two days at the YMCA camp at Yarramundi having a great time swimming, doing a ropes course, participating in team building activities and fun physical challenges like the flying fox.
