Irrigators have their say: The NSW Parliament hosts an inquiry into the raising of the Wyangala dam wall, and the voice of irrigators is heard.
Lachlan Valley Water executive officer Mary Ewing told the parliamentary inquiry that a majority of group's members support raising the wall at Wyangala Dam - pending the release of the business case, addressing both the value of improved water reliability and the benefits from improved flood mitigation capability.
Professor Jamie Pittock from the Fenner School of Environment & Society at Australian National University told the inquiry the proposal to raise the wall was 'puzzling'.
Water NSW said normal approval processes for the project were being followed.

Project director for the Stockinbingal to Parkes section of the project, Melvyn Maylin, said the team is progressing with plans to fix the "pinch points" on the 173km of rain line between Stockinbingal and Parkes so that it will be able to take trains with double-stacked containers.
