The work, which was initially scheduled to begin on Monday includes applying the Terracotta coating, line marking and stamping to the road.
In a post to Facebook, Mayor Phyllis Miller said the street would be sensational when finished.
Along with the work on the road surface, all of the paving will be replaced in Templar Street.
Mayor Miller said they will also be installing street furniture on various parts of the streets including under the trees so people can enjoy eating outdoors.
Prior works on Templar Street include changes to nose-in angle parking, and the placement of planter boxes.
