The Scores on Doors program rewards the proprietors of food premises that have demonstrated outstanding food handling skills and operate their food premises at an extremely high level by providing them with a certificate indicating that the premises has achieved 5, 4 or 3 stars.
Council recently undertook inspections of 58 food premises as part of Council's Food Safety Program.
This year 43 premises were awarded 5 stars in the Scores on Doors program, nine were awarded 4 stars and five were awarded 3 stars.
"It was pleasing to see that food premises within Forbes continue to maintain a high standard of food handling and each year we are continuing to see an improvement in food safety standards," the staff report to the council meeting said.
The following five-star recipients (pictured left) were at the December council meeting to accept certificates to place on their doors:
Bright Beginnings, BP service station, Cafe Aglio e Olio, Carawobitty Rural Retreat, Country Mile Motor Inn, Forbes Bowling Club Chinese, Forbes High School, Forbes North Public School, Forbes Preschool, Club Forbes, Forbes Public School, Girragirra Retreat, Isabel's Place, Karaitiana's food van, KFC, Learning Ladder, Out of the Blues, Shell service station, Red Bend Catholic College boarders, canteen etc, Ridgey's Delights, St Laurence's, Subway, Sweet Nourishment, Vandenberg Hotel, Woolworths.
Mayor Phyllis Miller OAM said she was very proud of the program and loved presenting the certificates.
