She passed away peacefully with her husband Don at her side in Weeroona Nursing home on Saturday 13th March after a long illness.
Romy was educated at Monte Saint Angelo College in North Sydney.
In the sixties Romy headed for the Kimberlies where she worked as a governess on two small cattle stations...El Questro and Tom Quilty's Springvale.
While there she took photos of the countryside and for her Art Degree used these to do some great paintings of the Territory.
Romy returned to Sydney and pursued an independent lifestyle; she was a genuine 60's girl. Mixing with "the rich and famous ". She even met The Beatles at the King's Cross hotel.
Romy loved art and studied for her degree at City of fine Art (COFTA ), now UNSW Art and Design and eventually got her Masters in Fine Art.
She became a teacher on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, but for health reasons she changed to a less stressful career as an Occupational Therapist at the Narrabeen war vets home.
Romy loved the beach and the outdoors. But in 2000 she made a "tree change", when she moved to Eugowra with her husband Don, where they opened the Mandagery Art Studio.
Romy pursued her passion for art and loved nothing more than displaying her works in exhibitions.
Despite her health problems, she never let it get her down, always had a positive attitude and loved to laugh with her friends and family.
She will be greatly missed, one of a kind.
Romy joined the Eugowra branch of CWA along with her mother soon after she came to Eugowra, Romy did a lovely painting for the "the Year of the Outback" which is displayed in the CWA rooms.
Romy enjoyed nothing better than joining in the activities of CWA whenever she could.
