It's hard to find words to describe how successful the $10,000 Easter Bowls Carnival last weekend was with players from all visiting clubs heaping praise on organisers for hospitality shown in the club to the conditions of the scheduled of play on the greens.
Major part of the prizemoney went to the winners of the pairs which went to the combination of Terry Pappas (Waverley Bowling Club) and John Fitzgerald (Tarren Point) with a 14-12 win over Brad Rowley and Zane Ballhouse ( Wallachia).
In fours, former Forbes resident and club green keeper Peter Harry playing out of the Merrylands club skipped Gareth Lewis, Tony Wood and Michael 'Hitman" Clarke to a 17-10 win over Josh Rudd, Glenn Ashcroft and Terry Pappas (Waverley) and John Fitzgerald (Tarren Point).
The local club did have success with 'Bert' Bayley teaming with visitors Steve Buchan, Keith Smith taking out the triples with a 10-5 win over the visiting combination of Billy Johnson, Steve and Michael Rawlings.
