Forbes Shire Council's signature tourism event is back for 2021 despite Covid-19 preventing this event from taking place last year. The event will take place near the date of the Winter Solstice, on Saturday June 19 from 4-10pm. The winter solstice celebrates the symbolism of fire, light, and the moon, and this Frost and Fire event will feature with fire performers, fire buckets, live music and entertainment under the stars.

"We are so excited to bring you this incredible event again this year," Forbes Shire Council Mayor Phyllis Miller said.
"We have the perfect location here in Forbes, the Ski Dam, surrounded by water and beautiful park land. Set under a beautiful starlit sky with amazing line up of talent, it will be a night to remember!
"With the temperature set to dip around this time we can all look forward to indulging in hearty food, boutique brews and kick back next to a fire bucket and listen to some amazing Australian musical talent."
Local acts; Gracey Jones and the Fog Pilots will share the stage with renowned music icon Bob Evans taking centre stage as the main act. ARIA winning alter ego of Jebediah, frontman Kevin Mitchell, Bob Evans has graced the Australian music scene for more than two decades and has written some of the country's most beloved songs.
"I love that we are able to have such amazing talent to perform here in Forbes at this free event, alongside our locals who are up and coming," Mayor Miller said.
"The night is full of entertainment with Wiradjuri cultural performances, fire stunt performer Walter Whip and the Flame, and John Buttagig who plays 2 guitars simultaneously and is also a 'Jon Snow' lookalike for all the Game of Thrones fans.
"Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from food vendors," asks Mayor Miller. "It is our intention to have more food and bars available on the night to ensure everyone has access to hearty food. Forms can be found on Council's website and submissions close April 16.
"It is strictly tickets only this time around," continues Mayor Miller. "Public health orders restrict the number of people allowed and the only safe way for us to do this is by ticketing the event. There is no cost, the event is free of charge, but entry will be denied if you do not have a ticket.
"We encourage everyone to invite friends and relatives to join us for this amazing experience," Mayor Miller said.
"We have something truly unique here in Forbes and we would like to share it with everyone."
