Competing in the LINX sponsored stroke competition which attracted 87 players Mr Hodge, playing off a seven handicap, scored 71 nett which could have been much better except for two of the four par 5's.
With power to burn Brian scored seven on the 2nd and 15th. However, we should add he did birdie the 6th and 7th holes.
Runner-up was Jack Dobell (handicap 14) with 72 nett.
Jack could have also done better, especially with Brian's birdies on the 6th and 7th as he took double bogey seven on both holes.
Les Little is the form player at present and since making a full time return to the game is winning weekend's and during mid-week veteran competitions.
While some were questioning the toughness of the layout last Saturday Les 'let it rip' to record the best score for the day, 68 nett of his 25 handicap.
Joshua Wood (32 handicap) let a winning chance go after scoring nine on the 7th then three sevens on the back nine to be runner-up with 72 nett.
Kathy Collits left the club smiling after winning the Pro Shop Super Pin on the 3rd while nearest the 9th was Phil Maher and 18th Scott Walker.
Another to be smiling celebrating after was Scott Kirkman with an eagle two on the 12th hole.
Ball sweep went to 78 nett on a count-back.
Winners were, 73 nett Scott Kirkman (handicap 10), Andrew Brownlow (2), Brad Ashton (5), Terry Griffiths (11), 74 nett Riley Pike (28), Calab Hanrahan (-1), Todd Callaghan (2), Nicholas Greenhalgh (10), 75 nett Phil Duke (10), Alec Edwards (18), Daniel Bayley (3), Barry Shine (12), 76 nett Christopher Moore (17), Blair Thomas (17), Bob Borger (15), Greg Webb (15), Ben Robinson (14), Brian Everest (7), Shane Sallaway (1), 77 nett Michael Wood (2), Tony Cogswell (13), Michael Prior (19), Neil McMillan (9), Steve Betland (-4), 78 nett on a count-back, John Betland.
John Betland was quoted as saying on his arrival to the 'hotel', "I wouldn't have won B grade in the Condobolin Open today." All your scribe has to say in response to this is - "many of us wish we could play as bad".

Please note
FGA president Ted Morgan said this week he is more than happy with response from volunteers to the working bees over the past three weeks killing off paspalum weed.
Members are asked to think ahead as many trees need pruning so mowers can move under without damage to the overhead cabins, volunteers will be needed again for this project.
Finally, a piece we read about slow play and consideration to other out on the course from ladies scribe Heather Davidson. Read on -
"With our tournament coming up, just a reminder to keep the game moving to eliminate slow play.
"Shotgun starts are sometimes the cause of hold ups in the field and we all need to get in for lunch also.
"After holing out, head to the next tee and someone should tee off immediately, don't all stand there and mark the cards before someone tees off. Ready Golf, this will also help to keep the game moving."
Couldn't have said it any better.
