The Heritage Week art awards were announced at the Platypus Gallery on Tuesday night, along with this year's Forbes Medal nominees.
Miles' work, a contemporary interpretation of an iconic image of Hall, will become part of the Forbes Shire Council collection.
The other prizes on the night were shared among local artists.
The non-acquisition prize Coralie Crouch for her painting Kate, the Enigma, a look at the tragic end of Kate's life after the artist was inspired by author Rebecca Wilson's recently-released book.
Highly commended went to Melody Ruhrmond for her depiction of the Forbes Post Office and to Sampa Bhakta for Pelicans on Lake Forbes.
An encouragement award was presented to Jenny Currey for her drawing Burial Tree, with the judges commenting on the importance of recognising Aboriginal culture.
The awards night featured the nominees and the presentation of the Forbes Medal.
