They competed against 47 other teams across the three-day event at Lake Mulwala to catch the best selection of Murray Cod and Golden Perch.
The competition ran from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1 with a pre-fish day on Thursday, April 28.
The catch and release competition was scored on the combined length consisting of the five biggest Murray Cod and the five biggest Golden Perch caught over the three days.
Mitchell Skeers, Nathan Skeers and Jamie Loomes formed the team Loomzy's Fish 'n' Fix where their biggest catches had a combined length of 722.5cm, almost 100cm more than the team in second place.
Jaime Loomes said that Mitchell and Nathan are Cod gurus and invited him to join them for the competition.
Mr Loomes said it was a few pretty big days out on the lake with them in boat from 7am to 5pm on the first two days of the event and 7am to 1:30pm on the final day of fishing.
The biggest Murray Cod that the team netted was 102cm long, while the biggest Golden Perch they caught was 60cm.
Mr Loomes said they were pretty confident going in to the competition, with Mitchell and Nathan Skeers having lots of practice fishing for Murray Cod.
The Loomzy's Fish 'n' Fix team were using swim baits when tackling Murray Cod, while they were using black gulp lures when aiming to catch Golden Perch.
Mr Loomes said they were also using a Garmin Livescope which was a real game changer in helping to locate the fish.
Along with helping the team knowing where to cast their lines, Mr Loomes said the device also helped them to see the quality of their casts and the reaction of nearby fish.
In a post to Facebook, event organisers Team Fishing Australia said it was by far the strongest field ever assembled at Lake Mulwala and the results backed that up.
There will be two more major fishing events hosted by Team Fishing Australia this year which includes the Wilson Native Classic and the Lowrance Native Classic.
The Wilson Native Classic will take place on September 11-12 at Lake Windamere.
Anglers in this competition will aim to catch Golden Perch and will be scored on the combined length of the 10 biggest fish caught.
Te Lowrance Native Classic is set to take place from October 9-10 at Lake Glenbawn.
Anglers will be aim to catch Bass and will be scored by the combined weight of four Bass per session. There will be three sessions.
