A local cafe, hotel and motel were on Wednesday evening listed by NSW Health as places a traveller from Melbourne stopped en route to the Sunshine Coast on June 1 and 2.
Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed must immediately get tested and isolate until you receive further information from NSW Health:
- The Bakehouse, Templar Street, Tuesday 1 June 2.30 to 2.50pm
- Bowns Sportspower, Rankin Street, Tuesday 1 June 3-3.30pm
- The Vandenberg Hotel in Court Street Tuesday 1 June 6pm to 10pm
- The Brew coffee bar Wednesday June 2 between 7am to 10am.
- Lake Forbes Motel from 1.30pm Tuesday June 1 to 10am Wednesday June 2.
A drive-through testing clinic was established up in Court Street on Thursday morning, but was relocated to Forbes Showground by lunchtime due to the demand.
Cars snaked down Lachlan Street and up and down Templar (towards the highway), and were at a standstill further up Lachlan Street.
The testing clinic is open today (Friday) at Forbes Showground, entry via Show Street, exit onto Racecourse Road.
Testing is free and no appointment is required, please remain in your car.
"We thank the community for their patience and understanding as we move through the testing process," a Western NSW Local Health District spokesperson said.
"We encourage anyone with symptoms to come and get tested. Then to go home and remain isolated until they receive a negative result.
"If you return a positive result you will be contacted by someone from the NSW Public Health Team."
Everyone here is asked to be especially vigilant for the onset of even the mildest of cold-like symptoms, and to come forward for testing immediately if they appear.
Test results typically take 24 to 72 hours.
