Jenny Webb, manager medical imaging with Forbes Health Service, told Forbes Shire Council's July meeting the van would be in Harold Street until September 1.
"We all know a loved one, a wife, sister, mother or friend, that going to breastscreen and having a mammogram has saved their life," she told the council meeting.
"Encouraging 98 per cent survive with early detection and the best way to detect breast cancer is through having regular mammograms."
Cr Webb said anyone attending the hospital might notice pink Breastcreen shirts being worn.
"That is because Breastscreen is local, is managed and run with people from within our own local health district," she said.
Breastscreen encourages all women aged 50 to 74 to have a mammogram every two years.
"One in seven women will get breast cancer in their lifetime," Cr Webb said.
"Nine out of 10 women do not have a family history. An appointment only takes 20 minutes every two years. Mammograms with Breastscreen are free and you do not need a doctor's referral."
She added that Breastscreen had put extra measures in place to protect women and staff against the risk of COVID-19 transmissions.
"If you're having a mamogram try to attend alone and arrive only five minutes before your appointment," she said.
