The annual event has been moved to a Sunday, August 1, for the first time in 50 years and president Randal Grayson is urging the local community to make the most of the change.
While in constant communication with Racing NSW about COVID restrictions, at this stage the club is all set to welcome locals to a great day out.
In exciting news, they've lobbied hard to get the Cup meeting named one of the showcase meetings in country NSW for this year.
It means a huge boost to the prize money on offer, which should attract some excellent competition on track.
"As an added bonus there's a country maiden with $40,000 prize money, which can only be won by country trainers," Grayson said. "It's a really great initiative."
The committee has been hard at work on site: they've installed new running rails and are set to invest in improved facilities for the increasing number of women jockeys.
Grayson's also pleased to report the track is in excellent condition given the amount of wet weather we've had.
Unfortunately the event's long-time supporters from Bankstown Sports Club won't be able to attend this year due to the Greater Sydney lockdown, but Grayson hopes the shift to Sunday will give the locals the opportunity to be part of it now and into the future.
As a stock and station agent himself, he's always been committed to the Monday cattle sale and unable to attend so he's looking forward to being trackside this year - and welcoming Bankstown back in future as well.
Grayson is urging people to go online to 123tix.com.au and secure their tickets early. Look out for the posters around town and scan the QR code for a link straight to the Forbes races options.
General admission is just $10 or $5 for pensioners however there is a VIP marquee where for $120 you'll get canapes, drinks and a race book.
All events will be run as per the COVID-19 restrictions on the day.
