It's the question on everyone's lips at the moment, how is the Covid situation in Forbes? We haven't had any new cases this past week which is really good news.

I still urge the community to go and get tested, it really is the only way of us knowing if the community is safe and Covid-free.
We also need to get ourselves vaccinated. I have received the latest tally and Forbes is sitting at 82.9 per cent first dose and 43.1 per cent second dose. This is so great to know we are on the right path out of this situation.
The Australian Defence Force is back in Forbes this weekend to administer the second doses to those who took part a few weeks ago.
People who received their first Pfizer vaccination at the Forbes ADF walk-in clinic on Saturday 28th to Monday 30th August 2021 will be contacted by Western NSW Local Health District by either text or telephone to confirm:
- Their second dose.
- The location of the clinic and;
- Date and time to attend the clinic.
There has been some concerns about the pool not opening the beginning of October and we are working with NSW Health to see if we can rectify this.
Outdoor activity is safe and good for our health if done in a Covid safe manner. We will keep you updated.
This facility is vital for our community especially during the warmer months and we cannot have it closed to the public.
Our wonderful works team along with Darren Cowan Welding and Knights Cranes have been very busy during this lockdown.
The new stage pavilion is now up in Lions Park and we are just installing the electrical components. There is also a new bin bay and storage shed behind the toilet block.
We are planning to party when the rules change and this is the location we want to hold that party!
The shed will house chairs and event equipment we need to have at hand rather than bring into site every time we hold an event.
Some of you may have seen the visuals of the future furniture work to be done in Templar Street on social media. It is so exciting, I cannot wait to see this street come together.
This work has been funded by Stronger Country Communities and Building Better Regions and we cannot be more thankful to the State and Federal governments for this contribution.
Fingers crossed we will be out of lockdown very soon, say a prayer we can open up to our new normal life.
Take care and God Bless.
