The Non Graded 720m race, which is a preliminary for the G2 Sydney Cup heats was the first time Miss Ezmae has run at Wentworth Park since her win in June.
Wednesday's run proved to be a bit of a more challenging run for Miss Ezmae than her first run at Wentworth Park earlier this year.
Miss Ezmae jumped from box seven and took the first corner with Super Estella.
She slotted into second place behind Super Estella after the first corner before spending much of the run attempting to overtake her.
Miss Ezmae took the inside track around the final corner before moving into first place, edging out Super Estella by a neck.
Smith said Miss Ezmae went great in the race and got there in the end.
The 720m distance is proving to be a goof fit for Miss Ezmae, with Smith saying she likes the distance.
Miss Ezmae will be heading back to Wentworth Park next Wednesday to compete in the G2 Sydney Cup.
Smith said it will be a competitive race and will have to see the draw when it comes out and which box Miss Ezmae has drawn from.
Also making a good showing on her return to Wentworth Park was the Smith-trained Midnight Flash who claimed second place in the 520m Stop the Spread. Get Vaxxed.
Midnight Flash bowed out to the race favourite Winlock On Top, but didn't give him much of a lead.
Smith said Midnight Flash ran a very good race.
