Forbes police Inspector Shane Jessep said offenders set fire to a vehicle parked in the backyard of an Underwood Street residence about 5am Saturday.
The vehicle was destroyed - with Fire and Rescue NSW attending to extinguish the blaze - and police are appealing for community assistance in their investigations.
In nearby Johnson Street, unknown persons have slashed two tyres of a parked vehicle and spray-painted it.
This has occurred between 7pm Friday and 7am Saturday, but possibly closer to the time of the arson attack.
On the same night police took reports that offenders had cut copper piping to a hot water system and stolen a tree pruning tool from a neighbouring yard.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in the area or who has CCTV or any other footage from the area that night.
If you can help with their investigations please phone the station on 6853 9999 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
