A delicious roast meal and birthday cake was enjoyed.
A report was given by Jennifer Purdie on the birthday luncheon attended by three ladies who travelled to West Wyalong. It was noted that we had to cancel our bus trip to Condobolin and Sculpture Trail due to COVID -19 - it also flooded and the road was closed on the proposed day!
It was decided to hold a Christmas luncheon at the Vandenberg hotel in November on our meeting date at a cost of $28 for a two-course meal. This will be at 12pm and we will not have a meeting at Club Forbes. We ask all intending to join us to pay Elvy Quirk at our October meeting.
We enjoyed our guest speaker Sally Downie from Trundle who is managing a farm with her partner. She is an advocate for keeping young people interested in the land, managing drought periods and mental health.
Our next meeting will be at Club Forbes on Friday, October 22 and our guest speaker will be Di Green who is a McGrath nurse assisting breast cancer patients in our area.
We will have to obey the new COVID rules now with only fully vaccinated persons allowed in the Club, proof has to be shown either on your phone or a letter.
A book stall will be run by Lyn Simmonds, with many new books.
Looking forward to seeing you.
