The Forbes and District Lions are once again selling a variety of Christmas cakes and puddings.
These popular cakes and puddings have been selling in Australia since the mid-1960s and are baked specifically for Lions Australia.
When you buy a Lions Christmas cake or pudding you are contributing to the fundraising for worthwhile service projects in the local community as well as national and international projects.
This year, the Lions Club will be selling 1.5kg cake for $17, the 1kg cake for $13, the 900 gram pudding for $13 and the smaller mini cakes for $2 each.
Forbes and District Lions Club's Neil Lambert said buying these cakes and puddings goes to support a good cause with proceeds going to the Lions Save Sight Foundation and fundraising services in Forbes.
This year, Mr Lambert said they have gotten some outside help contracted to help them make their cakes and puddings.
But don't worry, they are being made to the same delicious recipe as always, Mr Lambert said.
The Christmas cakes and puddings started to become available this year from Friday, October 8, and demand has been strong.
Mr Lambert said in the first five days of selling the cakes and puddings, they have sold about 30 of them.
In Forbes the cakes and puddings will be available at the Forbes Shire Council, the Forbes Golf Club and RMB Matthews Williams Lawyers.
You can also order a cake or pudding directly from the Forbes Lions Club by calling Neil Lambert on 0459 760 320 or Ian Acret on 0481 298 470.
Mr Lambert said that if any businesses or people wanted to bulk order cakes and puddings to put in things like gift baskets, this can be arranged by giving the Lions Club a call directly.
The Lions Club will be selling the Christmas cakes and puddings through to around December 22.
