Mayor Phyllis Miller extended the invitation to locals looking to stand for Forbes Shire Council on December 4 to join the council at the chambers from 6pm on Monday evening.
There will be a briefing session from a former councillor to take candidates through the processes involved in standing for council and what a councillor's role is.
"It will be a fun night," Mayor Miller said.
"I think you will really enjoy it. This does not mean you have got to stand, but if you've got any inkling whatsoever to stand please come along, we want to see you.
"We would be delighted to see you.
"I believe this town is worthy of having good people come forward - we're doing a great job here now and we can continue to do that with a progressive and team-focussed new council."
If you would like to attend please RSVP on 6850 2300 by Monday 3pm.
