It's been a term not quite like any other, extended twice due to COVID-19 concerns on gathering at the ballot boxes with the introduction of live-streaming meetings and councillors dialling in from home when they couldn't gather in person.
You can dial in to the final meeting of this council at 1pm Thursday on the Forbes Shire Council Facebook page.
In an end-of-term report to today's council meeting, Mayor Phyllis Miller writes that councillors and council officials have worked hard to deliver nearly $65 million in capital works and $195 million in operational expenditure for the community over an extraordinary five-year period.
The council was elected during major flooding with the Newell Highway under water, served through the severe three-year drought that came hot on its heels, and has now worked through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nominations have now closed for the December 4 elections, with a mix of current councillors and new candidates registering.
Two familiar faces will not stand again, Councillor Susan Chau and Councillor Grant Clifton.

We do know we have new candidates putting their hand up: Aidan Clarke, Dianne Decker, Marg Duggan, Emma Henderson and Maria Willis are either on the candidate register or have spoken to The Advocate about their plans to stand.
Profiles with Marg Duggan and Maria Willis still to come, but you can learn more about our other candidates in their introductory stories:
